May 8, 20192019 IDI Assessment Website Announcement

There are exciting changes coming to the IDI!

In 2009, we launched Version 3 (v3) of the Intercultural Development Inventory. Since then, we have seen an incredible growth in IDI Qualified Administrators and respondents who have completed the IDI Assessment. Over the last two years, we have been re-designing our new IDI Assessment Website and materials. Taking feedback from many Qualified Administrators, we aimed to expand the features that set us apart in the industry and improve the use of the IDI that needed it.

From May 24 (Friday) through May 27 (Monday), 2019, we will be moving all IDI v3 data to our new 2019 IDI Assessment Website, which will be available on May 28, 2019 for ordering, generating reports, managing accounts, and more. The v3 website will no longer be accessible after May 23rd.

We have produced a revised IDI Resource Guide, videos showing how to effectively conduct IDI Individual Profile Report debriefs for Denial, Polarization, Minimization (dominant culture), Minimization (non-dominant culture), Acceptance, and Adaptation, along with a video on how to effectively debrief using the Intercultural Development Plans. In addition, we have revised two of our case studies and added a new case study that is applicable to higher education.

Here is a quick outline of some of the main changes we have made to improve your experience and the experience of IDI respondents:

1. Changes to IDI Reports

IDI Group and Individual Profile Reports present more in-depth information on the Developmental Orientation, including identification of each orientation’s primary strength and developmental opportunity.

IDI Group Administrator Reports are also streamlined and now include key information concerning the mean, standard deviation, and number of respondents for the Perceived Orientation score, the Developmental Orientation score, and Orientation Gap score, along with demographic summary information.

2. Changes to IDI Group and Individual Profile Reports debriefs

We have revised how to effectively give IDI Group and Individual Profile Report debriefs for Denial, Polarization, Minimization (dominant culture), Minimization (non-dominant culture), Acceptance, and Adaptation and how to effectively debrief using the Intercultural Development Plans. We produced a series of videos that show how to effectively give feedback to these various profiles.

3. Developed the IDI Guided Development Assessment Roadmap

This Roadmap provides an in-depth “how to” for using the IDI for individuals, groups/teams, and for larger-scale assessments (e.g., all managers and staff in an organization, all department employees, all students in a college or all first-year students only).

4. New 2019 IDI Assessment Website

  • Instant Streamlined Ordering and Order Processing
The ordering process has been overhauled to allow for fewer steps when ordering for your respondents and clients. This includes adding to existing orders at the touch of a button. Additionally, orders will be processed automatically as soon as you confirm your order, eliminating the stress of completing your order and waiting for it to process.
  • Prepaid Credits Available for All Customers
One of the more popular features of the Enterprise Account, Prepaid Credits will be available for purchase for all IDI accounts in the new 2019 IDI Assessment Website. These Credits can be ordered in advance of a project that you may not have your respondents yet but need to complete the purchase.
  • Enterprise Account Management
QAs will be able to create and manage their own Enterprise Account, including adding existing QAs to the account and inviting up to three (3) Non-QA IDI Coordinators to create their own account which can only access the Enterprise Account.
  • Deleting IDI Login Codes
With more comprehensive privacy rules and regulations going into effect globally, the new 2019 IDI Assessment Website will allow you to delete IDI Login Codes from your account. Since the process cannot be undone, there is a multiple step process that is completed entirely within your account to make sure that no Login Code is deleted by mistake.
  • Faster IDI Report Generation
Searching for respondent data and generating IDI Reports has also been streamlined, allowing for quicker response times when generating IDI Reports.
  • Converting Unused IDI Login Codes to Prepaid Credits
The new 2019 IDI Assessment Website will allow users to convert any unused IDI Login Codes to Prepaid Credits for easy use with different respondents, thus eliminating the need to edit those Login Codes for new respondents.
  • Improved Security
One of the biggest reasons for the update was to ensure that our website meets the increased security demands of our users across the globe. As such, the new 2019 IDI Assessment Website will have increased security measures in place, both from our side and for each user’s account.

5. Changes in IDI pricing

The IDI represents excellent value in assessing intercultural competence. This includes customized individual profile reports, unlimited group profile reports, Administrator reports, and customized intercultural development plans. These prices are now based on the status of the respondents, NOT a QA’s status, for all versions of the IDI Assessment. When the new 2019 IDI Assessment Website launches, the following pricing will be in effect:

  • $30 per IDI: Organizational version – Standard
Standard version when utilizing the IDI
  • $21 per IDI: Organizational version – Non-Profit
Available only when respondents are from non-profit organizations and government agencies
  • $18 per IDI: Educational version – Standard
Standard version when utilizing the IDI within an educational institution
