Our Team: Jane Hyun

Jane Hyun is an instructor for the IDI Qualifying Seminar and an IDI Qualified Administrator. She is Founder and President of Hyun & Associates, a leadership consulting firm. A global leadership strategist to Fortune 500 companies, MBA programs/schools, and nonprofits and an expert in cross-cultural effectiveness, Jane’s expertise draws on over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of sectors. She uses the IDI extensively to identify strategies for building effective intercultural management skills inside organizations.

Jane has helped companies grow their bottom line through the effective deployment of talent and serves as an advisor to senior management teams regarding diversity strategy. She partners with global post-merger-integration teams, sales leaders, and designs innovative workplaces where people from all backgrounds have the opportunity to realize their potential. Before founding Hyun & Associates, Jane was VP of Human Resources/Talent & Operations at JPMorgan and Director of Recruiting at Deloitte. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Economics & International Studies and serves on their Women’s Alumnae Council. Her insights appear regularly in the media, including CNN, CNBC, Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, and Fast Company to discuss culture and diversity.

She has been advisor to the Taskforce for Talent Innovation and Operation Exodus. Her first book, Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling, opened a critical dialogue for the need for a culturally grounded career development approach. Most recently, she co-authored Flex: The New Playbook for Managing Across Differences, which examines the art of switching between styles to engage effectively with people who are different from you.
