Jane Hyun is an instructor for the IDI Qualifying Seminar and an IDI Qualified Administrator. She is Founder and President of Hyun & Associates, a leadership consulting firm. A global leadership strategist and coach to Fortune 500 companies, schools, and nonprofits, Jane brings 25 years of business and HR/talent development expertise to her clients. She uses the IDI extensively with clients to identify strategies for building effective intercultural management skills inside organizations.
Jane has previously been Vice President of HR/Talent at JPMorgan, and Director of Recruiting at Deloitte. She enjoys coaching sales teams, guiding merger integration efforts, and designing innovative workplaces where people from all backgrounds have the opportunity to realize their potential. She also works with corporate diversity councils and management to help develop effective multicultural strategies. Jane’s work has appeared on CNN, CNBC, National Public Radio, HBS WorkingKnowledge, Forbes, and Wall Street Journal to discuss leadership and culture.
A graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Economics/International Studies, she serves on the Women’s Alumnae Council, and is advisor to the Taskforce for Talent Innovation and Operation Exodus. Her book, Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling, opened a critical dialogue for the need for a culturally grounded career development approach. Most recently, she co-authored Flex: The New Playbook for Managing Across Differences, which examines the art of switching between styles to engage effectively with people who are different from you.
