Our Team: Nehrwr Abdul-Wahid

Nehrwr (pronounced “nay-wah”) Abdul-Wahid is an IDI Qualified Administrator and an IDI Qualifying Seminar Instructor, as well as an independent consultant focused on building individual and organizational capacity to leverage and maximize diversity as a resource. Nehrwr’s unique ability to use experiential learning, authentic dialogue, and self-reflection has benefitted clients across the world. The people he’s impacted with his work numbers well into the tens of thousands.

Nehrwr has been an independent consultant since 2003. His client list includes Google, Best Buy, Georgia-Pacific, McKnight Foundation, city and state governments, and school districts across the country. His impact on higher educational institutions has been felt at places such as Macalester College, University of Michigan, and University of Minnesota. Nehrwr’s focus on authentic and goal-directed dialogue has led to national recognition of some of the programs and students he worked with as Training Coordinator of the University of Minnesota’s Diversity Institute. He was also the recipient of the 2014 IDI Intercultural Competence Award.

Nehrwr’s educational background includes a degree in Mathematics and professional certifications in Educational Policy and Administration, Business Administration, conflict mediation, program design, adult learning, leadership development, and team building. He is a chapter degree member of the National FFA organization and co-authored The PIOOYA Principles (Pie-OO-YA), which he calls the 21st century’s ultimate “anti self-help book.”

Nehrwr was born in Washington D.C., raised in Chicago’s South Side Roseland neighborhood, and currently resides in Gilbert, Arizona.
