Amy Moreno-Sherwood, M.Ed. is an IDI Qualified Administrator and instructor for the IDI Qualifying Seminar. Amy also serves as co-founder of iConnections Consulting, LLC. and the Director of the Broadening Opportunities through Leadership and Diversity (BOLD) Center for the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder). Amy leads initiatives and strategies to positively impact the culture, social climate, and educational experiences for students, staff, faculty, and administrators. As a consultant, Amy provides training, workshop and strategic planning facilitation, consultation, and coaching with higher education, non-profit, and equity & inclusion focused leaders.
Amy attended Iowa State University of Science and Technology in which she earned degrees in Animal Science, Cultural Anthropology and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. In 2006, Amy participated in a study abroad experience studying various aspects of biological life in Australia in which her research area of focus centered on the experience of Indigenous Australians. Amy earned a graduate certificate in engineering leadership and management in 2021.
Amy has held various professional positions in higher education such as an instructor, Learning Community Coordinator for the Program for Women in Science and Engineering (receiving an outstanding innovation award for exemplary contributions to Iowa State’s learning communities), Residence Hall Director (inducted into the National Residence Hall Honorary), Human Resources as a Diversity and Inclusion Education Program Manager and a Senior Training and Development Specialist, and Director of Inclusive Culture with CEAS. Amy received the award for outstanding commitment to College Personnel Association of Colorado’s professional growth, and a University of Colorado system-wide award for contributions to diversity and inclusion in 2020.
