About
The Rev. Julie Boleyn is the Executive Director of the Kaleidoscope Institute, an organization committed creating diverse, sustainable communities by training leaders to create gracious space for courageous conversation and consulting to heal and transform local organizations.
Boleyn served as pastor to Unity Lutheran for 10 years, seeing the congregation from a challenging consolidation to a thriving ministry. Boleyn was instrumental in the establishment of Project 88 Music Academy. Project 88 brings world-class musicians to Berwyn in an effort to redefine the classical music experience.
In 2015, Boleyn led the founding of Awake, activating community members across cultures to work for leadership, justice, and relationship. Awake has developed highly successful reading and math programs, while incubating several small groups in creating significant change in the community. Projects have included advocating against school closures, establishing a sanctuary city, and increasing the minimum wage.
Boleyn has a background in fundraising and community development. She graduated from The Evergreen State College in Washington State with a Bachelor of Arts, and is a graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, where she earned her Masters of Divinity.
