About
My name is Diala Basem Kamal. I was born and raised in Amman, Jordan, and I am the youngest of four siblings. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Jordan in 2001, followed by a Master’s degree in Curricula and Teaching Methods for Arabic Language in 2011.
I currently serve as Head of the Arabic Language Department at the American Community School of Amman. Throughout my career, I have held key leadership roles, including Head of World Languages, and have led and contributed to strategic initiatives that advance teaching, learning, and community engagement. I am currently in the final stages of the Certificate in School Management and Leadership (CSML), further strengthening my capacity to lead system-wide growth and meaningful change.
I believe that “whoever dares to teach must never cease to learn.” My work is grounded in fostering student growth, cultivating inclusive and responsive communities, and integrating innovative, research-informed practices. I am deeply committed to creating environments where diverse perspectives are not only valued but intentionally leveraged to strengthen learning, belonging, and connection.
As a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), I partner with individuals, teams, and organizations to build intercultural competence through intentional reflection, data-informed insight, and targeted development. My approach is both relational and strategic—creating space for honest dialogue while guiding meaningful, sustainable growth. I welcome opportunities to conduct IDI assessments, facilitate impactful debriefs, and support schools and organizations in advancing inclusion, belonging, and intercultural effectiveness.
