How Individuals Use the IDI®
Although the Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) is typically used as part of a larger organizational initiative, individuals may wish to engage with an IDI Qualified Administrator (QA) to complete the IDI, receive an Individual Debrief of their IDI results, and learn more about the assessment for use in their organization.
When Should I Take the IDI as an Individual?
If you are considering becoming a QA consultant or bringing the IDI to your organization or educational institution, you may wish to experience the assessment first to have a better understanding of the process.
How Do I Complete the IDI as an Individual?
The IDI must be administered by an IDI Qualified Administrator. Only QAs are able to purchase the assessment, provide a login code to complete it, and share results. Individual results, provided in an Individual Profile Report, are only shared in a one-on-one Individual Debrief with a QA, which takes 30-60 minutes.
What Does an Individual Debrief Consist of?
After completing the IDI, you will receive your results directly from the Qualified Administrator. In the Individual Debrief the QA will go over your IDI results and help you to connect those results to your experiences across cultures. The QA will explain what the strengths and challenges of your current Development Orientation are and discuss with you strategies for continuing to increase your intercultural capacity. You will also receive an individualized Intercultural Development Plan (IDP) which is a self-directed roadmap to assist you in continuing your development.
Interested in Completing the IDI?
Because the IDI must be administered by an IDI Qualified Administrator (QA), you will need to connect with a QA who can provide you with a login code to complete the IDI and set up an Individual Debrief to go over your IDI results. QAs work independently from the IDI, LLC office and their services and fees vary. Reach out to a QA directly for more information.
